A new teaser trailer too Halo: Combat Evolved lets fans speculate on an upcoming Steam release. Although there is no clear indication of a release date in the video, hopes are by no means out of thin air.
Halo: Combat Evolved is one of five games in the announced Master Chief Collection for PC (MCC), the first part of which Halo: Reach was released in December 2019.
What are the reasons for an upcoming Steam release?
- The time interval fits: If the remaining four MCC titles were to appear on Steam by the end of the year, it would mean one release per quarter. Halo: Combat Evolved would therefore be expected in March 2020.
- Bug fixes in beta: As you can read on the official website, a beta test of the Halo Insider program that was completed at the end of February went pretty well. The summary includes numerous patch notes for Halo: Combat Evolved.
- Similar teaser to Halo: Reach: Fans are already making comparisons in the comments below the video.
- The content of the video: The master chief is woken up. Do we have to say more?
Even on the official one Twitter account Halo fans reacted hopefully and enthusiastically to the teaser, which evokes nostalgic feelings with its allusions to previous titles.
Some comments complain that no release date has yet been announced, but most are hyped. The esport commentator »Simms« puts it this way:
– SIMMS (@TheSimms) March 2, 2020
It remains to be seen whether Halo: Combat Evolved will have a steam start as grand as Halo: Reach – but not for too long.
