Competition for Samsung and Xiaomi: 100,000 pre-orders in one week – that’s why these phones are in demand

With the Realme 13 Pro and the Realme 13 Pro+, the Chinese manufacturer Realme has introduced two new mid-range phones in India and is celebrating great success with them. Within a week of the announcement, 100,000 pre-orders for the Realme 13 Pro and the Realme 13 Pro+ have already been received, reports manufacturer Realme on X (formerly Twitter)It remains unclear which of the two models is more popular. One thing is certain, however: the success of the two mid-range phones is putting pressure on industry giants Samsung and Xiaomi.

The two manufacturers currently dominate the Market researchers from Canalys According to the Indian market. Together they have a share of around 40 percent. Realme currently only holds around 10 percent of the Indian market. However, it was able to increase sales by almost 30 percent compared to the previous year.

Realme 13 Pro series impresses with its price-performance ratio

With the new Realme 13 Pro series, the manufacturer is likely to further shorten the gap to Samsung and Xiaomi. What makes the models so attractive? The answer is simple: the price-performance ratio. The Realme 13 Pro+ stands out in particular here. For the equivalent of just under 360 dollars, it offers outstanding features for the price range, especially in terms of the camera.

It has a triple camera on the back, which consists of an 8-megapixel ultra-wide-angle camera, a 50-megapixel main camera and a 50-megapixel telephoto camera. With the latter, you can bring objects three times closer optically. The competitors’ phones in this price range usually only offer a lossy digital zoom.

The Xiaomi Redmi Note 13 Pro+, for example, has a 200-megapixel main camera, but no telephoto camera with optical zoom. The same applies to the Samsung Galaxy A55, which, in comparison, only has a 50-megapixel main camera.

With its features, the Realme 13 Pro+ would certainly have a chance to shake up the mid-range mobile phone market in this country. However, it remains to be seen whether Realme will release it in Germany.
