Mount & Blade 2: Bannerlord is an early access game and is far from over. But at least nothing should change in the size of the game world. Now some fans speculate that this could still happen. How so?
The image of a world map that players have found in the Mount & Blade 2 game files has been published on Reddit. This shows the continent of Calradia, which makes up the entire game world of Bannerlord. However, this part of the world map represents just a tenth of the total size.

The map found here is therefore significantly larger than the game world that we can currently travel in early access. For comparison, here is an excerpt from the map that only shows Calradia:
What does this find mean?
It is extremely unlikely that Taleworlds developers plan to expand the game world so immensely in the future. So even after early access, Calradia will not grow to ten times its size.

Nevertheless, there is of course some speculation as to what the card means. We have picked out a few for you:
- New regions are coming as DLC: The first guess of many players now is that the world may not grow to the release, but it does grow in size afterwards. So the developers could use DLCs to add new areas and maybe even factions and nations for our character.
- Taleworlds had planned more: Another theory is simply that the developers for Mount & Blade 2 times had much more ambitious plans. The long development period may be due to the fact that plans of this size turned out to be impracticable.
- The card has nothing to do with the actual game: The last option is quite simple. This card may have very little to do with Bannerlord himself. Maybe she shows the whole world, but only to define the background of the game a little more precisely. Developing such a big game world was never considered. One player took the map as an opportunity to assign different nations outside of Calradia to it.
Nevertheless, the card is a very exciting find. At the latest the modding scene will hardly miss this basis. Nobody can say exactly what is the reason for the map to remain in the game files. Except maybe the developers. So we knocked on Taleworlds and will expand this message as we learn more from them.
What do you think of this big card? Desirable, or just a castle in the air?
