CD Projekt has confirmed that Cyberpunk Multiplayer is a project that runs in parallel with Cyberpunk 2077.
Follow the big news Cyberpunk 2077 Delayed until September, CD Projekt decided to hold a short press conference to discuss the delays and ask some questions.
Not surprisingly, one of them is about the elusive multiplayer components of the game. It started with conceptual exploration and then entered full development.
During the Q & A session, board member Michal Nowakowski revealed that the AAA project CD Projekt Red, which works with Cyberpunk 2077, is indeed a multiplayer game mode. Due to the delay of the main game, the schedule for multiplayer games has also changed.
The model is still in the early stages of development, and Nowakowski said the model may come out in 2022 or later.
"One of the things we need to be clear about when it comes to multiplayer games is that the AAA version running in parallel with CP2077 is a Cyberpunk multiplayer game-so this is the first thing, and I think Adam hints that things will become Reality. Touched, "he said.
"Therefore, given the anticipated release of Cyberpunk 2077 in September and the series of events we expect to occur after that date, it seems unlikely that 2021 will be the release date for Cyberpunk's multiplayer games."
As part of the same Q & A, co-CEO Adam Kissinsky said the CDPR team will have to shrink to accommodate the new deadline.
Cyberpunk 2077 will be available on PC, PS4 and Xbox One on September 17.
