From Netflix to Disney Plus
Which series are affected?
The Marvel series moving from Netflix to Disney Plus are the following:
- Daredevil – three seasons
- The Punisher – two seasons
- Jessica Jones – three seasons
- Luke Cage – two seasons
- Iron Fist – two seasons
- The Defenders – one squadron
When is it time?
The Marvel series is from the March 16, 2022 available on Disney Plus.
Why are Netflix’s Marvel series disappearing?
That Netflix loses its own series is quite an unusual case. After all, Netflix produced the Marvel projects itself. However, the deal with Marvel Studios and thus Disney was one temporary affair.
Now the rights are moving back to Disney and the logical consequence of this is that all productions are collected on their own streaming service – in this case Disney Plus.
What else do I need to know?
Too brutal for the MCU? Because the TV series co-produced by Netflix and Marvel Studios appeal to adult audiences due to their violent nature and subject matter, it is anticipated that they will not be available on Disney Plus’ regular programming.
Stars as a new home: On the other hand, it is much more likely that Daredevil, The Punisher, Luke Cage and Co. will be in the category Stars
available for streaming. In other words, where other Marvel productions that do not explicitly belong to the Marvel Cinematic Universe – such as Logan or Deadpool – can also be found.
