The release of the major Frostline expansion for the survival game is setting new records for DayZ.
Despite its age, the long-standing survival favorite DayZ has rarely been as successful as it is currently. The recent release of the major Frostline expansion has seen Bohemia Interactive’s title record record player numbers.
According to the developers, 500,000 players across platforms recently joined the open-world survival title every day. Since the release of the second major expansion, the game has been breaking its own previous records on PC, Xbox and PlayStation.
This is also reflected in the sales figures for the DLC package itself, as Frostline has already sold over 300,000 times within the first week since its release.
Brand Manager Scott Bowen is quite pleased in his statement: “We are excited to celebrate the success of DayZ: Frostline in its first week and we owe it all to our incredible community. A big thank you to everyone, from veteran survivors to to newcomers. Your tireless dedication and insightful feedback have been the driving force behind the development of DayZ, and the recent increase in player numbers is a testament to the game’s continued vitality. DayZ remains a competitive driving force in the survival genre Aspect pushes boundaries that are difficult to copy.”
