Nobody would have seriously expected that: Dead Island 2 has been postponed again. But this time you don’t have to wait any longer, instead the developers are delivering the zombie action a week earlier. If that’s not a reason to be happy!
The origin story of Dead Island 2 puts many crime thrillers in the shade. The game was originally introduced in 2014 and was even supposed to be released in 2016. As is well known, nothing came of it and not only was the release postponed several times, the development team also changed several times. Not a very good omen for a smooth release, even if the Dambuster Studios, which are now responsible, seem to be pushing hard.

In fact, the developers are so motivated that the zombie action has now reached gold status. This means that the work on the game is complete and it is ready for the pressing plant or digital stores. Now you might be wondering what the developers are up to until the planned release on April 28, 2023. Polishing is usually the order of the day, but Dambuster and Deep Silver use the early completion to postpone it even further.
But wait, leave the pitchforks and torches in the closet. Because Dead Island 2 will not come later, instead the game will be brought forward by a week to April 21, 2023. Good news for everyone who has already bought their ticket to Hell-A. The date therefore applies to all planned platforms, i.e. PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S and the PC.
If you’re worried that Dead Island 2 might fall victim to German censorship, we can also reassure you. As is already known, the title will be released in Germany with only one mini cut. There are also currently some Collector’s Editions available if you have a little more money left over. In any case, pre-orders are now possible.
