As part of the Game Awards, the sequel to Death Stranding, which was already in the rumor mill, was officially announced. But when will Hideo Kojima release the sequel? An employee provides a new clue! Will it work already in the coming year 2023?
A few weeks after the official launch of Death Stranding 2, we know that Hideo Kojima’s post-apocalyptic game will continue, but when that will happen has not yet been revealed. Is there any hope of a release in 2023?
Unfortunately, the answer to this question is more likely to be “no” – at least that is what a profile of an employee involved suggests. at ArtStations the artist Frank Aliberti is registered; this acts as a senior artist on Death Stranding 2, which he confirms in this profile.
Death Stranding 2 also appeared in the list of projects that Alberti worked on or is still working on – garnished with a general release period in 2024. The release of the sequel should therefore probably take place in the year after next at the earliest, especially since Alberti should have relevant insider knowledge. Since such information is only intended for the public in the rarest of cases, the senior artist of the game has updated his profile in the meantime and removed the information from the page – but the Internet rarely misses something like this.
Official information on the planned release period for Death Stranding 2 is initially not available and it remains to be seen when Hideo Kojima will comment specifically on this. Until then, you should also enjoy this leak with the necessary caution – although it will probably not look so rosy for 2023 as far as Death Stranding 2 is concerned.
