Just last week, the rumor was confirmed to be true when it was officially revealed that Death Stranding would be coming to PC Game Pass soon. In fact, soon, subscribers will be able to install and play the game tomorrow, August 23rd.
Sony has since gone on to share a statement with PushSquare stating that “matters related to the PC version of Death Stranding are managed by Kojima Productions and 505 Games” and that “[Sony Interactive Entertainment] Not participating in this promotion. “
If you didn’t already know, Sony owns and financed Death Stranding. It’s certainly not the first and last time a Sony game has made it to Game Pass, but it’s one of those rare instances where many of us have asked Kojima Productions and 505 how it’s bringing Death Stranding to the competition. Subscribe Serve.
While no specific answer has yet been confirmed by either party, we do know that Sony wasn’t involved, the console version of the game is still exclusive to PlayStation, and only the campaign version of the game will arrive on Game Pass. As PushSquare also mentioned, different game versions may have different license agreements.
While many of us were already skeptical of some ambiguous tweets from the PC Game Pass Twitter account, a few days later Xbox confirmed what many thought. Death Stranding is coming to PC Game Pass on August 23, not Xbox Game Pass.
In addition, Norman Reedus recently accidentally confirmed that he and Hideo Kojima are working on “Death Stranding 2”.
But if you want a bigger dose of Kojima Productions at the same time, it was also revealed not long ago that the developer is working with Xbox Game Studios to create a game that it says is “unprecedented.” Further rumors suggest this could be a horror game, marking Hideo Kojima’s latest foray into the genre since Silent Hill’s cancellation.
Either way, there seems to be a lot to look forward to for fans of Death Stranding and Hideo Kojima.
