Now that the PlayStation 5 exclusivity period is over, Arkane Lyon’s infinite loop It will finally hit the Xbox Series X/S next week on September 20. It will be available on Xbox Game Pass on the same day.
The news isn’t surprising considering that a pre-order ad for the game has recently popped up on Xbox consoles via the store page.
The Xbox version comes with all the updates released for the game since launch.Updates include Photo Mode, additional accessibility options, cross-game matchmaking, and numerous quality-of-life fixes
The Xbox console and PC versions will also feature cross-buy and cross-save features, so if you buy a game through the Microsoft Store on Xbox or PC, you’ll be able to play it on your other Microsoft platforms and pick it up wherever you choose left.
Arkane Lyon also released a new update for the game. The Goldenloop update is available on all platforms, with new weapons, crossover PvP, new abilities, new enemy types, expanded endings, and more.
Crossplay features PvP matchmaking across PSN, Xbox, Steam, Epic and Microsoft Store environments. You can set the cross-platform matchmaking setting to Any (all platforms) or Same (only your platform), and you can also set the controller to Any (all controller types) or Same (only the one you’re using).
The new skill Fugue is a projectile that slows and confuses your targets, rendering them temporarily harmless. It also includes four discoverable upgrades: Coda: Extends the duration, Earworm: Casts a fugue “mine” on surfaces, Discord: The target is hostile to its allies, and Syncopation: After the target dies, it affects nearby enemy. To gain this ability, look for a fugue board that may be located near Carr’s Bay in the afternoon.
The Halps Prototype is the new weapon, an energy-based rifle that fires a continuous laser-like beam for precise fire. You can even fire beams at turrets or security cameras to refract the beam and hit your enemies with bank shots.
New enemies in the update are Paint Bombers and Eternalists, who wrap themselves in paint-laden dynamite. Don’t let them get too close or they’ll take you out.
Juliana’s four new ability upgrades come with updates specifically for her camouflage abilities. They are: Ensemble: Target up to three NPCs, Fix: Regenerate health when using Masquerade on an NPC, Expose: When an NPC affected by Masquerade dies or discovers Colt, he is automatically marked, and Has stealth mode, and damage taken while using Masquerade will be converted to energy.
In addition to the above, the Goldenloop update adds 19 new trinkets. These 2-in-1 trinkets all combine the abilities of two existing trinkets.
For example, the new Wrecking Ball trinket incorporates the existing Sprinter and Unstoppable Force trinkets. There’s also Rolling In It, a mix of Deep Pockets and Stab N Grab. These new combo trinkets will help you free up some space in your gear.
The update also includes the game’s expanded ending and other surprises.
Dead Loop released a year ago on PC and PS5, and critics and players alike seem to be happy with the game. Alex Donaldson of iGamesNews gave it a 5/5, calling it a “thrilling, fluid adventure and Arkane’s best game yet”.
