Earlier this week players had discovered a new addition to the Demon’s Souls Remake that didn’t exist in the original game, and now player has cracked the code in opening the door.
Demon’s Souls Remake Mystery Door Solved
The door that was locked when approached was giving players a mystery to crack in the Demon’s Souls Remake. While one player had discovered you could see through the door with the clever use of photo mode, how to get past the door was the challenge.
Later this week players had discovered the addition of Ceramic Coins, ones you couldn’t drop for other players but only collect them which are discoverable underneath boxes. These coins are only accessible once players complete the game, enter Fractured Mode
This addition got the soulsborne community thinking of how to use them to open the door. Further supporting the idea the coins were related to this door, is that when trying to use the coin with Sparkly the Crow, a merchant who likes shiny things, they will simply return the Ceramic Coin back to the play. The coins also cannot be duplicated by online players dropping items for others, the coin will break but can still be used as a healing item.
This led Souls speedrunner Distortion2 to discover the solution, players will need a certain number of Ceramic Coins which they will then need to give to the Sparkly the Crow, using 26 coins to obtain the Rusted Key. Using the key unlocks a hidden door in the Inner Ward area of Boletarian Palace, and behind it is the Penetrator Armor Set based on the Penetrator boss.
We solved the mystery of the hidden door! Thanks for making such a great secret to get all the community involved @bluepointgames
