The Helldivers community is once again in a state of excitement. This time not because of an unpopular decision by publisher Sony, but because of a black hole that has opened up in place of the planet Merida.
Many players suspect a wormhole behind it, through which the new enemy faction of the Illuminates could soon find its way into the game. That this event is imminent is almost certain. At the end of April, data miners found the first images of the new enemies in the game files:
However, it will probably still take some time before this happens. The next major content patch for Helldivers 2 is currently still pending. Now the developer studio Arrowhead has commented on the delay and asked for understanding.
In a statement on Discord, the developers write that fans could Expect the next update in the second week of June. In addition, the update rhythm for Helldivers 2 should become slower overall.

As Community Manager Katherine Baskin explains, the aim is to fewer, but better and more content-dense updates The team hopes that the slower cycle will a higher quality standard
.
Another important aspect in this decision is the mental health of the development teamProducing updates at a high pace demands a lot from Arrowhead employees. Since high stress levels can lead to burnout in the long term, the decision was made to reduce this risk factor.
In addition, the update rhythm has so far had little time to respond to community feedback. Future changes will therefore take players’ wishes into account more than before.
It was a mistake not to communicate this internal change to the players regarding updates from the beginning. Overall, however, Arrowhead hopes that the community will understand the decision. Only together can the game be made better and the defense of the Super-Earth from its enemies be ensured.
