Shortly before the release of the next season, the developers at Respawn Entertainment gave us more information about the upcoming innovations. The most important and most visible new feature is the release of Seer. The latter will play a role in gathering information for the team, much like Crypto and Bloodhound. His passive allows him to hear the heartbeat of nearby enemies, while his skills allow him to scan the area near his weapon and reveal the enemies’ HP in addition to their location.
Compared to the information available to us, many fans have given positive feedback on the legend; its history could provide the place for interesting intrigues in the royal battle.
Much attention has also been paid to his distinct personality compared to other characters. one professional dancer was also hired to better adapt his visuals to his background. “The aim was to convey mystery and elegance, but at the same time to represent our artistic form.” He was at the center of many inspirations, be it in dance, fashion and entertainment. The idea of gameplay revolving around the legend came up two years ago with several iterations in a row to achieve the result that will be revealed with season 10.
Nowhere to hide
Seer’s lead developer Travis Nordin said the character was more focused on in-game audio. Her Ultimate was similar, it was still a bullet, but it blocked noise. You had to throw it to fight a team in the hopes that there wouldn’t be another squad in the ultimate.
Seer will therefore be the third legend to focus on gathering information, which prevents more and more players from waiting for the end of the fights by hiding in certain places. At first glance, one might think that Seer is in some ways replacing Bloodhound with his powerful scans. However, according to the developers, there are several differences that make Seer unique. His scanning door will be weaker than that of the other two legends.
For Travis, Seer could even have synergies with Crypto and Bloodhound. The two have a scan with more Tor, they could help spot enemies, and are escorted by seers to take on that role when they get up close. Other legends that help the onslaught, like Revenant, Valkyrie, or Octane, could also come in handy in building up battles with the advantage.
The LMG season
In terms of Rampage LMG, this gun should be more versatile than its competitors thanks to its loading mechanism. However, this won’t be the only novelty about the guns by far: the meta will change a lot at this point as the developers wanted to encourage the use of LMG guns in general.
This is especially true for the L-Star, which thanks to its two new accessories should finally be used more in the game. The other big change that many may not notice is thisAcceleration of the reload speed, which switches from magazines to stocks (Shares). “The extra ammunition is reason enough to take a magazine with you, so incorporating the reload speed on the butts is one way of making them more attractive as accessories,” explains Eric Canavese, Rampage Weapon Development Officer.
The 30-30 and G7 Scout, on the other hand, could be used a lot more at times, as they will now have sniper supplies to improve their accuracy at long range. With the change in shot mode for the 30-30, this could have a huge impact on their popularity.
Season 10 Emergence will be available for free on all platforms tomorrow, August 3, at 6:00 p.m. PDT.
