Blizzard announced the release date Diablo 4 at The Game Awards 2022 tonight.

Released on June 6, 2023, the game will feature cross-play and progression on PC, PlayStation, and Xbox, as well as couch co-op on consoles at launch.

According to Blizzard, Sanctuary’s most brutal vision to date finds the demon Lilith and the angel Inarius as arch-enemies who have resorted to war with each other.

The Vault has been overrun by demons, and you can choose from five classes to save it – Druid, Rogue, Sorceress, Barbarian, or Necromancer.

Making its debut in the Diablo universe is the expansive Overworld, where you’ll drive the demons of hell back to various areas of your sanctuary. These include the snowy forests of the Fractured Peaks, the highlands of Scosglen, the swamps of Hawezar, the badlands of the Dry Steppes and the deserts of Kehjistan.

This non-linear game also features 140 dungeons, side quests and tons of loot. World bosses will appear, and you’ll need to defeat them in groups to stand a chance at their loot. There are also strongholds that can be claimed for sanctuary citizens.

There is also an end game system where you continue to grow in strength through challenges. There’s Helltide, which is a recurring event that brings a spike in demonic activity. There are challenging Nightmare Dungeons, an updated Paragon Board system, Undead Whispers that give World Bounty Legendary rewards, and Hatelands to build PvP.

Diablo 4 is available for digital pre-order as the Standard Edition ($69.99), Deluxe Edition ($89.99), and Ultimate Edition ($99.99). Pre-ordering will give you early access to the open beta, as well as various goodies depending on which version you buy.
