Diablo IV is fresh on the market – at least for pre-orders, and from tomorrow also for everyone else – Blizzard Entertainment is already looking towards the future. Accordingly, there are already plans for two full extensions in the drawer.
After a long wait, Blizzard Entertainment has finally released Diablo IV these days and the action RPG is sure to enjoy great popularity – like most parts of the series. Even the main game should keep you busy for a long time until you have even brought one character to the maximum level. Nevertheless, the developers are already looking towards the future and want to provide plenty of supplies.
In an interview with Kinda Funny Games General Manager Rod Fergusson has now commented on the subject and confirmed that Blizzard Entertainment is working internally on not just one, but two full-fledged expansions for Diablo IV. These are classic, large add-ons that are to appear every quarter in addition to the seasonal content that is already planned.
“We’ve been taking things in parallel. We’re in the process of releasing the main game and finishing Season 1, we’re also working on Season 2 and Expansion 1, and we’re getting started on Expansion 2 – it’s all happening right now,” said Fergusson .
Blizzard Entertainment had not yet commented on the further post-launch plans for the game beyond the seasonal content at this level of detail. Season 1 is scheduled to start sometime in July and then last around a quarter. What we can expect from new content per season is still largely a mystery, as is what is planned for the big add-ons. But good to know for the moment: Plenty of supplies are already on the way for Diablo fans.
