Surprisingly, Demon Thief Just announced. This new FPS blends Quake-like arena FPS gameplay with roguelike elements. You can get it now on Steam Early Access and the Epic Game Store.
The reveal came in the form of a cinematic and gameplay trailer (see below), in which we see a variety of adorable robots hop into various mech suits – representing the three classes in the game – and head out to battle. It’s a colorful, fast-paced FPS that shows a lot of charm and potential for a first reveal.

The game’s developer, GD Studio Inc, is made up of several professional Quake players and other people who love esports. Its first game, Diabotical, came out in 2020, and while that version wasn’t as successful as many Quake fans had hoped, this new game aims to take the same atmosphere and gameplay style and add some innovations through the roguelike style.

According to Diabotical Rogue’s Steam page, each of the three mechs has its own roguelike upgrade path that players can experience in the game, as well as different equipment. The game is launching with two modes – 4v4 Elimination Mode and 16v16 Warm Up Mode – as well as a custom map editor so that the community can bring their own creativity to the game.
The game is currently 25% off on Steam, so if you’re interested in the classic FPS game, be sure to pick it up. There’s no word on when the game will leave Early Access, but those interested can join the Discord listed on the game’s store page.
