Battlefield 2042 Developer DICE is obviously interested in winning back some of the goodwill it lost in the chaotic release of the game. The developers have communicated what players can see in the game from now to the holidays.
In a lengthy and detailed blog post, DICE shared its intention to release two (possibly three) patches between now and the end of the year. The first one will be released tomorrow, and it will solve some of the major problems players have been facing, such as excessive weapon bloom and resurrection errors.
Then, in early December, follow-up patches will make more significant changes, involving everything from balance, bug fixes, the return of certain functions, UI finishing to audio and even expert balance.
Of course, all of these are welcome, but DICE also realizes that part of the game’s audience wants to implement certain major classic battlefield features into Battlefield 2042.
For example, the lack of traditional scoreboards and post-match global statistics screens are two missing elements that many people in the community often mention. DICE stated that it is “carefully evaluating” these requests, but it just didn’t confirm whether they are under development.
However, the studio does promise to return to these topics when there is more important news to discuss. The list extends to traditional server browsers-currently only available in Portal-and things such as voice chat-which have been confirmed to be in development.
Of course, the veterans of the battlefield regret losing more things, but maybe hope that the professional system and things of that nature are beyond the scope that developers can do now, because the game is out.
