Disney+: Available video formats
A growing number of Disney+ films and series are available in high streaming quality. However, the resolution in which you can stream the content depends on the title, the streaming device, your internet connection and your respective subscription.
The Disney+ standard subscription with and without advertising offers you 1080 Full HD, IMAX Enhanced, 3D and 4K Ultra HD 48. The latter two can only be used via Apple Vision Pro. In addition to the standard subscription, Disney+ Premium offers you the following video formats: 4K UHD and HDR, HDR10 and Dolby Vision.
How to adjust the video quality
When you stream a title on Disney+, the video quality is automatically adjusted to your internet connection and your device. This means that playback is always in the best possible format. If a film on Disney+ is also available in IMAX Enhance, the IMAX image format is activated without any further action.
Although you cannot change the settings manually, you can adjust the data usage on your streaming device, which will change the video quality.
To do this, navigate to the app settings in your browser or open the app settings in the Disney+ app. There you can then make the settings for Wi-Fi and mobile data connections separately.
Find out supported video formats
To find out what video quality certain content is available in, first select the desired title. Then navigate to the “Details” tab to see the possible streaming formats.
In the “Versions” tab you can see whether you can also watch certain titles in widescreen format and IMAX Enhanced. To do this, you can filter by IMAX Enhanced when searching for titles.
To play content in 3D using Vision Pro, select the 3D icon in the navigation bar. However, you may need to set the app language to English, as certain 3D titles may be available in multiple versions.
