A cult attraction in the Disneyland parks
In the world of amusement parks, there are attractions that are so famous that even those who have never set foot there can know them. And while some great parks hold their own, it’s clear that Disneyland doesn’t fall into this category. Big Thunder Mountain, It’s a Small World, Hyperspace Mountain – even if you’ve never been to Disneyland Paris or any other Mickey Mouse park, you’ve probably heard of these attractions. And among these iconic places in the Disney parks, the Haunted Manor can even boast of existing in several countries and entitled to a first film adaptation.
Haunted Mansion in its original version, Phantom Manor in Marne-la-Vallée, Mystic Manor in Hong Kong, the attraction commonly known as the Haunted Manor has continued to convince the public to walk through its doors since its inception in 1969. It has to be said that its “creepy” side, but accessible to even the most timid (like a good Halloween party or some old mumbo-jumbo), is enough to make you want to go back there several times a day, not to mention from passage into the ballroom, whose mastery of the technique known as Pepper’s Ghost managed to impress more than one visitor.
Whether you’ve already visited the Haunted Manor or not, You might be happy to know that this mythical attraction is being turned into a feature film and that the latter is planned very soon!
Should we be afraid of the Haunted Manor?
While The haunted house is expected July 26, 2023 in French cinemas, Disney just unveiled the first trailer, which you can check out in our player above. The opportunity to learn a little more about the actors and actresses that we will see on screen, but also about his scenario that promises to be totally original:
A mother and her nine-year-old son want to start a new life. They seize an opportunity they can’t afford to miss: an affordable mansion in New Orleans. Little do they know that the house is already home to unexpected residents. When they find out the mansion is haunted, they hire a team of pseudo-experts to help them hunt down the various ghosts and specters that haunt their home.
As you will see as you read, The synopsis of the film therefore does not announce a reboot of the first film adapted from the cult attraction (The haunted house and the 999 ghostswith Eddy Murphy, published in 2003), yet another faithful adaptation of the specially developed and cherished lore of its French version called Phantom Manor. Instead, we should be entitled to a mix of Anaheim Park’s history and a story entirely recreated for the occasion.
While perhaps the project might put off fans of the attraction who don’t want to end up with something less interesting in the end, it’s still good to take note The feature film is performed by actors who are particularly appreciated by the audience as Lakeith Stanfield (Exit), Owen Wilson (Loki) etc Danny Devito (Philadelphia). Whether this will be enough to convince viewers remains to be seen. In any case, Disney is therefore giving us an appointment at the cinema to see “The Haunted Manor” on July 26th.
