A studio behind a groundbreaking game
While the video game industry in general leaves little room for the independent scene, it is the latter that sometimes stands out and monopolizes the space for a few moments thanks to original productions full of new ideas. Last summer, for example, an independent game managed to create such a stir that it was noticed by many players: the famous Dordogne from the French studio Un Je Ne Sais Quelle.
Coming to PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and Nintendo Switch in June 2023. Dordogne is a point’n’click adventure game that focuses on the visual and narrative atmosphere. The scenario places the player in 2002, when Mimi, a young woman of 32, decides to return to the abandoned house of her recently deceased grandmother Nora. The opportunity for her to reconnect with her childhood in the Dordogne and recall memories that she had completely forgotten or even bring to light some family secrets. If you haven’t played this little nugget yet, you can do so through the Game Pass, for example.
No mercy for AI
Apart from the fact that it was released at the beginning of summer and therefore fits perfectly with the atmosphere of the game, it is above all the great work that has been put into the game, The entire title invites you to discover the Dordogne thanks to lush hand-painted watercolor decorationsa truly original achievement in the world of video games. So when this colossal work is shamelessly taken over to power generative artificial intelligence, suffice it to say that the developers of Un Je Ne Sai’s source are not really pleased:
Dear fans and content creators, we really appreciate your support regarding Dordogne.
But even though we know it’s already finished somewhere, PLEASE respect all the artistic effort we’ve put in over the last four years and don’t try to feed our work to an AI.🙏THANK YOU!! ❤️

Dear fans and content creators, we are truly grateful for your support for the Dordogne.
But even though we know it has already been done somewhere, THANK YOU for respecting all the artistic efforts we had to make over the last 4 years and trying not to feed artificial intelligence with our work.MERCIE!!
As a reminder: The use of generative artificial intelligence is particularly frowned upon by artistsThe latter, in fact, regularly remind us that this technology is only take over the work of thousands of artists without ever obtaining their consentanything to make copies without thinking about it. They then think that this is simply comparable volMoreover, real questions are being raised about the future of artistic professions. Therefore, while it can be very tempting to get a “beautiful” image in a few seconds using Midjourney or another artificial intelligence, it is better to forego this if you support the artists and developers behind Dordogne or any other work. The use of generative artificial intelligence impacts not only the artistic professions of the image, but the entire creation, whatever it may be.In France, for example, the translation and dubbing professions are currently in the midst of a campaign against this technology through the movement #TouchePasMaVF.
