As announced on the official Xbox website, Tell Me Why is available as a free download on Steam, the Microsoft Store and Xbox in celebration of Pride month this June. If you haven’t played it before, tell me why there are twins Tyler and Alyson Ronan, as they “use their special bond to unravel the memories of their loving but troubled childhood”, as described on the game’s official Xbox page like that.
“Tell me why, the award-winning narrative adventure game from Dontnod Entertainment and Xbox Publishing will be available for free on Xbox consoles, the Microsoft Store and Steam throughout the month of June 2022,” reads the announcement.
“In recognition of the dramatic rise in anti-trans sentiment in the U.S. this year, Xbox Publishing is donating $25,000 during its free period to the Trans Legal Center and Trans Lifeline, two nonprofit organizations that provide resources and support for trans, non-binary and Gender queer people.”
The post also announced that Xbox Publishing will be broadcasting live on its Twitch account on June 23 to raise money for Trans Lifeline.
This isn’t actually the first time Tell Me Why has been offered for free on Xbox, as it’s also being offered for free in 2021.
A series of other announcements were made as part of the Xbox post celebrating the pride. On one hand, Microsoft donated a total of $170,000 to LGBTQIA+ nonprofits, including the UK-based charity Mermaid.
A new controller with various LGBTQIA+ logos was shown, with a striking design that might draw attention.
