God of War Ragnarok will be available in a few hours, but a lucky few may already have their precious copy. No matter when you get your hands on the game, you need to download the launch patch. A recommendation straight from the development studio.

If Santa Monica Studio insists so much, it is because this update includes a large number of improvements and fixes related to dialogue, cutscenes, quests and progression or even the gameplay of God of War Ragnarok. The full patch notes can be read below this address.
The update also fixes platform-specific issues. If you’re on PS5, you have additional settings for the DualSense’s haptic feedback. For PS4, here are the changes:
- Fixed several instances of loading issues
- Fixed rare cases where the world would load slowly, resulting in temporarily degraded graphics
- Fixed extreme crash when loading a savegame
