Dota 2: Entry for newbies should be made easier

As popular as Dota 2 is, getting started is a real torture for many newbies. Valve has finally recognized this and has released an extensive update that should make the first steps much easier for newbies.

The update should be published tomorrow. Probably not without reason, because with the start of DOTA: Dragon’s Blood on Netflix, Valve is expecting numerous new players. The complex game should now be conveyed using significantly simplified tools and methods so as not to completely kill new players.

There is (optional) a clearly streamlined shop along with a guide that gradually activates new options based on your decisions. Also new is the New Player mode, which lets you start with a limited pool of heroes without overwhelming you completely. You can leave a game at any time without penalty, you will then be replaced by a bot. In addition, solo newcomers are only put together with other new players, so that you can avoid the veterans first so that you can familiarize yourself with them in peace. If a match is not full, it will be filled with bots after a certain time in order to keep the waiting times within reasonable limits. If you join a group directly, you will initially only fight against bots. The bots have been revised for this purpose.

Finally, there is a new wizard for live matches that warns you when you make completely stupid decisions. There is also a new chat for newbies with trustworthy admins from the community and a coaching system that enables you to contact experienced players during a match and ask for help.
