Square Enix is now finally bringing the first Dragon Quest Builders to the PC – many years after the original release in 2016. There is then a version of the game with all previous content for the home calculator.
With Dragon Quest Builders, the first game in the building block RPG series is now making its way to the PC. As Square Enix announced today, the title will be available for home computing enthusiasts via Steam from February 13th, after the game was originally released for the PlayStation 4 and PS Vita and later also for the Nintendo Switch.
According to the creators, the PC version will now contain improved crafting skills and the DLC “Terra Incognita”. If you want the successor right away, you will also be able to get a package consisting of Dragon Quest Builders and Dragon Quest Builders 2. And: If you already own the second part, you can buy part 1 at a reduced price via Steam. Pre-orders are now possible.
The new crafting skills mentioned in the PC version include placing blocks with a simple mouse click and making it easier to destroy blocks and objects, an undo function for restoring works, and the “Super Strike” skill, which allows you to hit multiple objects within a certain range simultaneously destroy collectible items such as NPC and monster figures and more.
According to official information, the contents of the DLC pack “Terra Incognita” read as follows:
- Boss Monster Model Set – Builders can unbox and place multiple giant monster figures with adjustable poses in their world.
- Astronomy Set – Builders can light up the night sky with ten stars and planets to add a piece of the galaxy to their own garden.
- Pixel ring – More than just a pretty accessory. Builders can wear a Pixel Ring, which grants them a greater number of “pixels” when defeating an opponent in “Terra Incognita”. These can then be used to craft special items at the Dragon Quest Game Pack crafting station.
- Magic Carpet – Builders can use the Magic Carpet to view, build, and explore their structures from the sky, as well as to listen to special music as they travel.
