Dune Awakening is MMO. If you've been keeping up with the game, you probably already know this. Players will be able to finally get together to dig out spices, raided creature measures and massive PVP battle clashes. However, as my preview shows, early games are solo experiences in most cases. So, how do you transform your lonely play style into a collaborative player?
Well, creative director Joel Bylos seems to have found the answer in Classic Wow. This snowstorm classic has regained acclaim in recent years, partly because of the smooth way players discover each other when they pursue it. These moments were squeezed out by Bylos in Funcom's office last month as he was getting a development room with all kinds of snacks and cookies.

“It's been crafted so people can get into these groups with certainty. Wow, classics are an inspiration because it's a really good game,” Bylos said. “I love you kind of run wild. You start playing alone, But at some point you say 'Oh, I have to walk into this village full of elite mobs. Hey, do you want to join us? 'You end up being drawn to play with others, right? '
“It's really good, I'm sure it was intentional, but not intentional. It feels like a happy accident. So that's it [what we’re going for] In the dunes, I'm trying to make it feel like sometime when you're out and you kind of want to play with other people because that makes it easier. Maybe people will get off the car then, but it's 60 hours and they don't care.”
So, the hint of the design philosophy that encourages players to stick to together is a really important component of the MMO experience. This is what the current closed beta player will only be seen directly, although Bylos himself earlier pointed out that many players running around Arrakis are now quickly forming the initial large guilds to help entry-level players quickly Head to the final game to play activities with them through funnels and resources. How will this work when the game actually appears and the community starts again with a character, whether I am myself or Joel, they will jump around from the media with snacks.
