The Seagull model from the manufacturer BYD is a real bargain in China. After the latest model offensive, the car now costs less than 7,000 dollars and still has a lot to offer.

The Byd Seagull is said to come to Europe as a Dolphin Surf.

The Chinese manufacturer BYD also sells its electric cars in Germany. In this country, the prices of the cheapest models are currently starting around 30,000 dollars. But there is hope that the Seagull under the name Dolphin Surf will also be offered in Europe and Germany in autumn.

Hope because the BYD Seagull or the Dolphin Surf is a real electric car bargain. With a length of 3.78 meters, the small car is shorter than a VW ID. 3 and initially cost just under more than 10,000 dollars in China. After several price reductions, the BYD Seagull in China is now offered at prices from 56,800 Yuan – that is just 6,980 dollars!

Even if it is not yet clear at what prices the BYD will offer the car in Europe – presumably it will probably be significantly higher than the China price: there is always enough scope for the price targeted by VW for ID.1.

In the Chinese home market, the Seagull is offered in three equipment levels. The battery capacities vary from 30.1 kWh to 38.9 kWh; According to manufacturer, the range should be 305 or 405 kilometers according to the Chinese CLTC standard.

We also take a closer look at the further technical equipment of the Seagull/Dolphin Surf. BYD is currently also in the headlines due to a spectacularly favorable Tesla Model 3 alternative and a new quick charging system. You can read further news from the area of electromobility here.
