With the New Year’s announcement bringing with it a surge of hope for some, some players were hoping 2022 would be synonymous with a full return for E3. It was without counting on the latest variant of Covid-19 that once again dictates its law.
E3 2022 will not take place face to face: For the second time in a row, the still most famous trade fair for the video game industry will be missing in the halls of the Los Angeles Convention Center
Due to the health risks associated with COVID-19 and the possible effects on the safety of exhibitors and visitors, E3 2022 will not take place in person. We are still incredibly excited about the future of E3 and look forward to announcing more details shortly.
THE 3 ? E3 not?
However, this announcement, which is sure to sadden some, does not say what the Entertainment Software Association actually intends to implement to compensate for the sad news. When asked about the implementation of a new edition 100% online, the organizers were “enthusiastic about the possibilities of a Remote E3” without commenting.
Instead of gambling for time and betting on a hypothetical decrease in contamination from Covid-19 and its many DLC Variants, the ESA was determined to expect a late turn. Keep in mind that if E3 2020 had simply been canceled, the 2021 edition would have given us the traditional remote industry conferences and too good for the grip.
But because it always takes time to be happy about the misfortunes of others, ex-journalist Geoff Keighley only needed a few minutes to drive another nail into the coffin of the ‘E3. In view of this announcement, the moderator of the Game Awards contented himself with a picture that recalls the return of the Summer Game Festival, which is just as summery:
If the announcement was made last December, players know that they will definitely be able to discover new announcements in the form of the WORLD PREMIERE this summer.
