Electronic Arts released EA application Available in beta for Windows, now available for everyone to download.
The application will replace the PC platform EA Origin, which was launched more than 10 years ago. According to EA, the app is “faster, more reliable and leaner” than Origin and will be the “best place” to experience the company’s games, services and content.
Using the app, you can automatically download games and background updates, and build your friend list by connecting your EA account to other platforms and services like Steam, Xbox, and PlayStation. Each user will also have a custom and unique ID, and once connected to the app, users will know what and when their friends are playing, allowing players to join games together.
EA is inviting those still using Origin to take action as soon as possible. By the time the invite was sent, the company said all games and content, including previously installed games, would be ready and waiting through the EA app. All local and cloud saves will be transferred forward, ensuring users can pick up where they left off. Friends list is also transferred.
Any games listing playtime or achievements will be transferred to the EA app, and all in-game purchases will be transferred.
EA applications are now available for supported Windows PCs. For those using MacOS, Origin for Mac will continue to be the place to access games.
