Star Wars Jedi: Survivor Officially revealed, the 2020 sequel Fallen order from developer Rebirth Entertainment.
The reveal is part of this week’s Star Wars Celebration, which has countless other reveales in the form of a short trailer. Protagonist Cal Kestis will return in this sequel, which is expected to launch in 2023, even though it’s been five years since the first game.
Like many games have revealed, this is just a cinematic trailer, so there’s no hint of what the gameplay might look like. Although it’s safe to say it’s just an expanded version of the first gameplay. Interestingly, the Grand Inquisitor was featured in the trailer, and he was also recently featured on the Disney+ show Obi-Wan Kenobi.
Fans thought Karl might have a cameo as Obi-Wan Kenobi, since the show takes place around the same time period, and this appearance of the Grand Inquisitor does point in that direction.
The trailer also shows Carl confronting a Sith, or at least one with a red lightsaber. Carl also didn’t do well in combat.
The trailer ends with Carl looking at a guy with long hair in a water tank, a water tank similar to the one Darth Vader appears in the movie. It’s not particularly clear who this character might be right now, although it’s clear they’ll be important to the plot in some way or another.
As previously reported, Survivor will also be a new generation only, meaning only PS5, Xbox Series X/S and PC. We’ve known about the upcoming sequel for a while now, since it was announced earlier this year, but until now it hasn’t been confirmed when it will be set and what the title will be.
In addition to Survivor, Respawn is working on two other Star Wars games, a strategy game and a first-person shooter.
