With “Shadow of the Erdtree” we are still waiting for the big expansion to the top hit Elden Ring. Was the release date possibly revealed by a leak?
Elden Ring is considered one of the best games of the past year and has countless fans. They certainly had reason to be happy when the extensive DLC package “Shadow of the Erdtree” was announced, as it promises a lot of new content. However, the good piece still does not have an official release date. But the wait may soon be over!
This is at least indicated by a leak that comes from an unexpected source. Apparently Bandai Namco is cooperating with the peripheral device manufacturer Thrustmaster. As part of this collaboration, various controllers that are thematically based on Elden Ring will be released – and the premiere of the first such controller will take place on the occasion of the release of the expansion.
In this context, promotional material for the Thrusmaster controller has now appeared, which also specifically refers to the release of the add-on “Shadow of the Erdtree”. The hardware should therefore be released in February 2024, close to the release of the DLC package and the anniversary of the main game.
Ultimately, this may be able to paint a fairly accurate picture of when we can expect a DLC release, as Elden Ring celebrates its second anniversary on February 25, 2024. If the leak of the Thrustmaster promotional material turns out to be accurate, then the The waiting time is just over two months until the additional content is published.
There is also another release of Thrustmaster controllers related to Elden Ring, which is in the works for 2025. In this context, another expansion is also being brought into play, so that things could continue after “Shadow of the Erdtree”.
The advertising materials appeared on a product page at DataBlitz, but were quickly removed from there. Presumably the graphics simply hadn’t been released yet. However, such things usually rarely escape the internet and the fact that the images have since been removed from other sites suggests that there is definitely something to the leak. We will keep you up to date and will of course also report in particular if there is an official confirmation of the release date.
