Gaming News Elden Ring fans can’t wait for the DLC, this new clue changes everything!
As we approach the second anniversary of Elden Ring’s release, there’s a big hint that the long-awaited DLC would be coming very soon! Is this the end of the long wait for players?
If 2024 will be the year of Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, Tekken 8 or even Rise of the Ronin – it will undoubtedly be the year of Elden Ring too! Because yes, almost a year after its announcement, the Shadow of the Earthtree DLC is still expected. Apart from a mysterious artwork, we don’t know anything about it at the moment: no information about the setting, the characters and (even less) the release date. However, knowing the immensity of Middle-earth, one is quite certain of one thing. This is a content addition that promises to be huge. As far as marketing is concerned, a hint has just been dropped.
An imminent release?
It’s a certain “Ziostorm” – who knows Elden Ring inside out – who brings us the good news on X (formerly Twitter). The videographer recently browsed this SteamDB Action RPG – and he made a fascinating discovery… Based on the database that Steam analyzes in detail, we can see that an “Unknown App 2778580” has appeared in the DLC section. “I’m not saying it’s 100% Shadow of the Earthtree, but there’s a good chance it is.”appreciates this famous Ziostorm.
Another point of reference: For Dark Souls 2/3, this happened about two months before the DLCs were released and a day or two before the trailers for the respective DLCs went live. As Resetera users have noticed.
Although it’s been a day and there’s no trailer so… who knows🤷♂️ https://t.co/9a5lWnUQZf— Ziostorm (@Ziostorm1) January 16, 2024
In fact, several clues point in this direction! If you believe the information from SteamDB, the last content update was 15 months ago – before the DLC was even announced. Also, it’s January 17th and We are slowly and surely approaching the second anniversary of Elden Ring (originally published February 25, 2022). Even more: as mentioned VGCA leak from last December mentioned that Thrustmaster controllers would launch in February 2024 with the aim of “synchronizing with the Shadow of the Earthtree expansion.” In short, all the stars seem to align and all that’s missing is an official announcement from Bandai Namco and the FromSoftware team.
