The big DLC Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree is finally available after a long wait and is ensuring considerable player numbers in the action hit.
Just over two years ago, From Software landed its next big hit with Elden Ring, which was awarded Game of the Year several times. Expectations were accordingly high for the big DLC called “Shadow of the Erdtree”, but players had to wait longer for it than they would have liked. This wait is officially over today – and is already generating insane numbers of players again.
As soon as Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree was released, the number of simultaneous gamers in the action epic on Steam rose considerably. In the last 24 hours, the peak figure of 589,948 gamers almost reached the 600,000 mark. For comparison: a week ago, the peak number of simultaneous gamers of Elden Ring on Steam was around 174,000 gamers, a few months ago this figure settled at 35,000. The eagerly awaited story expansion is therefore generating huge interest in the action title.
However, it is still a while before Elden Ring reaches its record high on Steam, as it was almost at the million mark with 953,426 gamers at the time of its original release in February 2022. Nevertheless, if interest in the DLC on consoles is as high as on Steam, then From Software has probably achieved the next big commercial success with “Shadow of the Erdtree”.
