The weapon you should choose for a Samurai build on Elden Ring
For this Samurai build we will be using a single weapon, the Katana. The bow has no real added value when we have one of the best types of weapons in hand, so our build will go in this direction.
For a samurai katana based on Elden Ring, one weapon that immediately comes to mind is the Nagakiba. This weapon packs a similar punch to the Uchigatana, but has a longer range to hit enemies. It is best to carry the weapon with both hands in order to deliver significantly stronger blows.
We emphasize using a single katana, but if this style of play doesn’t interest you, you can also play with two katanas.
Among the best katanas, we advise you to use the Lunar Eclipse to achieve an accumulation of bleeds, but also a unique ability, namely “Ephemeral Moonlight”. This allows you to project horizontal or vertical light waves over a medium area. This skill deals magical damage, which is ideal for enemies who don’t mind slashing damage.
Attributes to choose from
For a single katana build, we recommend you follow the distribution of the following attribute points.
- Power : 40 to 50 to have enough life points to survive,
- esprit : 25 to have enough CP to use your weapon skills or summon spirits,
- Endurance : 30 to 40, depending on needs and playing style,
- Violence : 18 to carry the nagakiba,
- skill : 60 to 80 to do more damage. Dexterity is the main characteristic of a samurai build
- intelligence : 16 or more if you want to use Lunar Eclipse,
- He was : 7 or more if you want to use buffs,
- Esotericism : 10 to 20 depending on the katanas you want to equip,
However, if you want to play with two katanas, we invite you to make some modifications so that your choice of weapons perfectly suits your physique. For example, if you are aiming for the lunar eclipse, you will undoubtedly need to increase intelligence to increase affinity.
Equipment parts to choose from
What device load should be assigned? Which talismans to equip? Should I add war ashes? What mixture should I prepare with my bottles?… In this part of the article we answer all these questions!
- armor : Although using a heavy loadout is recommended, we prefer a medium loadout to allow for smoother movement and evasion.
- Talismans : Green Turtle Talisman, Alexander Fragment, and Favor of the World Tree. The aim is to increase bleeding while benefiting from a bonus to your health, stamina and the weight of your equipment. If you play with a bow, it is interesting to remove the Bleeding Talisman and replace it with the Talisman of Shooting Arrows to improve the range of your arrows but also the power of the shot.
- Ashes of war : Seppuku, Blood Blade or the drawing of the Uchigatana. If you’re playing with a bow, the Power Shot is great for breaking through your opponent’s defenses.
- Flask of Miraculous Salvation : Purple Crystal Tear + Green Crystal Tear to regain life while benefiting from a bonus to your stamina. On the other hand, if you choose a bleeding build, we recommend that you make the following mixture Purple Crystal Tear + Thorny Cracked Tear to improve your damage and thus trigger the accumulation of bleeds faster.
Now all you have to do is adapt the build to your playing style! Not all builds are suitable for shell construction as it all depends on your preferences. Elden Ring offers a huge arsenal, giving you room for customization to suit your playstyle.
