Because many fans complained about the a bit dated graphics by Elden Ring, chief developer and Souls inventor Hidetaka Miyazaki himself commented on the subject.
The last network test before the release of From Software’s latest prank Elden Ring showed that when it comes to graphics, things are moving in the direction of Dark Souls 3 and less of the splendor of the Demon’s Souls remake. Chief designer Hidetaka Miyazaki spoke personally about the choice of the graphic frame and also gave an explanation for why he didn’t even play the remake of Demon’s Souls himself.
With the colleagues from Videogameschronicles Miyazaki revealed that the in-house graphics team is experiencing extra pressure because of the visual brilliance of Bluepoint’s Demon’s Souls remake. For Elden Ring, however, the prioritization was different. Both games differ mainly in their size and the world design. Elden Ring is likely to be a lot more spacious than Demon’s Souls and thus need a graphic framework that can display the wide areas with sufficient performance.
In a postscript, Miyazaki also admitted that he had not played the remake of his classic again himself. “The game brings back a lot of memories that overwhelm me a little – it doesn’t feel like playing anymore. That’s why I didn’t play the Demon’s Souls Remake, but I’m glad it got the new next-gen look “revealed Miyazaki.
From Software shouldn’t be too worried about the graphics of Elden Ring anyway, because with ray-tracing support, which will be delivered in a later patch and the solid style of Dark Souls 3, so much can’t go wrong.
