Just recently, Elden Ring was played through by speedrunners in just under 2.5 hours. If you think that was fast, then you will hardly believe the new record.
As with any release of an open-world title of seemingly endless scope, speedrunners rush to bring even the biggest games to their knees. Just earlier this week, Elden Ring finished in 2.5 hours. That was already a remarkable speed run. But the new record holder beats the old record by a long way. In fact, he could almost see the ending a third time in the same period. It took streamer LilAggy less than an hour to complete the story. The stopwatch ended at 59:38.
Below we add t he video proof. Of course you shouldn’t watch the recording if you want to avoid spoilers.
But how did LilAggy do it? First of all, it still uses a mechanism that was intended by FromSoftware. When a certain opponent attacks, he first teleports himself to the Vulcan house. Then the streamer cheated a little to success. He forces the game to revive him after a death in certain locations to quickly get to the late game areas. As a class, he chose the Samurai because the katana deals bleed damage, which proves helpful against bosses. By using a specific skill that, unlike normal attacks, does not scale with the player’s stats, allowing them to focus entirely on health and mana when leveling up.
