news hardware Engineers create the first edible tape to hold your burrito!
It’s happened to us hundreds of times… Spilling the entire contents of your sandwich with one little wrong move. Gravity is unforgiving, and to compensate, engineering students attempted the experiment of making an entirely edible Scotch.
We were blown away by this novelty
The harsh laws of gravity do us great harm. We fall on a bike, and hey presto! Our arm is broken!
But do you know what hurts the most? It’s when all of our filling falls out of our sandwich. Between that awkward moment unfolding in front of all our friends and our resolve to finish a snack completely devoid of any rawness…
It’s (obviously) in the United States Johns Hopkins University allowed four biology students to work on an edible scotch project. The result is a first working prototype that will help burrito restaurants thrive.
But how does it work then? Rough, The four students managed to use different fibers made from organic ingredients and other food additives to create a kind of paper. By wetting the surface of the small sheet, you get a scotch that can hold the entire contents of your sandwich
An innovation that sticks to our climate news
At dawn, when many ecological initiatives take shape, It is important to find out what tomorrow’s world can do about the waste and massive exploitation of natural resources.
Paper has become more and more expensive in this COVID crisis, unnoticed. Any company that uses paper as a key resource in their business will tell you: paper will be a rare commodity in our future.
By participating in this fight against the waste of resources, the four students invent innovations and give us an insight into the little things in our daily lives that are in danger of changing.
At the moment, this edible Scotch has the cute name “Tastee Tape”, so it’s easy to imagine that the name will change on the day of release. With one stone, two birds, less food wastage and fewer natural resources consumed, what are people asking for?
