Actually, this podcast about Epic Games should be completely different.
We actually wanted to talk about the fact that the Fortnite operator’s strategy doesn’t make sense. That Epic is giving away money with the Unreal Engine. That Fortnite is past its best days and was just a coincidence anyway. That the Epic Store is economically questionable because it does not tap into a new market, but only chases away Steam customers – or better: with free games and exclusive dealsbuys
All of these would have been interesting topics that we will continue to address elsewhere. But:
If you take a closer look at Epic’s strategy and Epic founder Tim Sweeney, you will come across a completely different, even bigger topic that goes far beyond gaming.
Because Sweeney is positioning Epic for a future that we currently cannot even imagine: the Metaverse, the next digital revolution.

In the podcast, Michael Graf and Human Nagafi – management consultants analyze 1789 Innovations and podcasters Corporate Therapy – what the Metaverse is all about, and how Epic sees its role in it.
And that explains Epic’s legal battle against Apple and Google, which – probably – are pretty hopeless.
