Will Epic secure Dead Island 2?
Dead Island 2 was first announced in 2014 and switched back and forth between different studios. After Techland, Yager and Sumo Digital, it’s now officially in development at Dambuster Studios. In the document “Review of Performance and Strategy” the game is identified as an exclusive title for the Epic Games Store.
In 2019 there was confirmation that Dead Island 2 is still being worked on. Last year there was radio silence and there was no new information about the zombie survival game. On the Developer website
“Deep Silver’s Dambuster Studios are hard at work on the next installment in the Dead Island franchise.”
The new information makes it clear: When Dead Island 2 comes out, there is a high probability that it will be an exclusive title in the Epic Games Store.
Saints Row 5 also exclusive to Epic?
In addition to Dead Island 2, the document also speaks of an exclusive game from the Saints Row series. It is not certain whether this is Saints Row 5. On May 22, 2020, the remaster of Saints Row 3 was released exclusively for one year in the Epic Games Store.
Klemens Kundratitz, the CEO of Koch Media, promised in an interview in 2019 “to talk about Saints Row 5 next year”. So far there is no information about the new part, which may be related to the Covid-19 pandemic.
Due to the pandemic, many developers are working from home. In DevPlay you can find out what has changed in the home office of Europe developer studios.
