The leak of CD Projekt’s data breach has already begun, and there may be more leaks.
It seems that the hackers are not bluffing.Everyone from CD projectThe main ransomware hacking occurred earlier this year when it was believed that after a mysterious buyer obtained all the data in a multi-million dollar transaction, the nightmare was over, provided that the data would not be shared afterwards.
But last week, a group of hackers claimed that they had access to the same stolen data and organized a fundraising event where buyers could donate $10,000 to obtain a password so they could access different files. Early reports indicated that some of these archives were already in the wild, and more archives appeared over the weekend.
So far, there have been many videos from game development versions. These are more like errors and faulty compilations, made by CD Projekt Red, and may be for internal use only.
You can watch a lot of these montages on Reddit, but if the developer decides to submit a DMCA, these links may disappear later. In a tweet that has been deleted (via Tom Warren), game producer Slava Lukyanenka confirmed that these videos were created by the studio’s QA team during the development process.
Nevertheless, they are quite harmless, but you can understand why CD Projekt Red does not want them to appear in the wrong state when the game is released. The studio continues to work on solving a series of major patch issues.
With this in mind, if random users have access to this content, it is impossible to determine whether they will leak more major and potentially destructive materials.
