ESRB, the rating committee in the United States, has basically confirmed some tomb Raider The game should be coming to Switch soon.
Back in 2021, Crystal Dynamics and Feral Interactive announced they would bring Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light and Lara Croft and the Temple of Osiris When it came to Switch, it was originally expected to be released in 2022, but it was quietly postponed at the end of the year. Now, the ESRB confirms, for all intents and purposes, that the two games aren’t far off considering they’ve already been rated. It’s worth noting that neither game is directly named in the ratings, it’s just called The Lara Croft Collection, but it’s clearly both of them.
“A collection of two action-adventure games, players help Lara and her allies find artifacts to stop ancient gods from destroying the world,” the ratings summary reads. “From a 3/4 top-down perspective, players can traverse jungle ruins and ancient temples, solve puzzles, and battle hordes of enemy creatures (e.g., dinosaurs, giant scarabs, stone golems).”
If you’re wondering what the rating is, it’s a T for Teen, because of things like “realistic gunshots, big bangs” and “blood” [being] Described in a few cases. “Oh, and for those who don’t mind violence but don’t like swearing, ‘the word ‘bastard’ will be heard in the game”.
Whenever this collection is released, it at least tides us over until the next game. We do know that Crystal Dynamics is working on another game and that Amazon Games is publishing it, but we really don’t know anything beyond that. The Embracer Group acquired the Tomb Raider IP from Square Enix last year, but there are rumors that it then sold the IP to Amazon for a whopping $600 million.
