COVID-19 also did not stop before the development of Everspace 2: Originally, the epochal space sequel was supposed to start Early Access in 2020, but the pandemic caused all sorts of delays. But now there is finally a new date!
After the early access start of Everspace 2 had to be postponed several months due to the corona pandemic, the waiting time in the new year is no longer too long. Today the guys from Rockfish Games announced the new start date for the single player looter shooter in space.
From January 18, 2021 – and thus in a few days – you should be able to dive into the Early Access version on Steam. In addition, this version of the game will also be launched as part of the “Games in Development” program, or GID for short, on the alternative PC platform GOG.com.
The early game version will initially appear in English, including professional voice output; German localization is initially missing. The price will be 37.99 dollars, for which you will get the first 12 hours of the story campaign with several side missions. It also includes the first two star systems from the final game. If you add the secondary tasks to this, Everspace 2 should already have at least 25 hours of gaming fun to offer at the current Early Access start.
And otherwise? You can look forward to all core mechanics, including space battles, exploration, resource extraction, puzzle solving, travel, trading, equipment, crafting, customization, perks and five different ship subclasses.
The full version for PC, including Mac and native Linux support, will appear at an appropriately higher price in the first half of 2022 and offer complete UI and text localization including voice dubbing in German.
