Since its Early Access launch two years ago, Everspace 2 has been floating through the scheduling void. But that has now come to an end, at least an appointment and the platforms are now fixed.
Hard to believe, but true. After what felt like an eternity in Early Access, the space adventure Everspace 2 has actually been given a release date, albeit only for one platform for the time being. On April 6, 2023, the game is scheduled to leave Early Access on PC and be officially released.
No date yet, but there is at least a release period for the console versions and also a little surprise. Everspace 2 will no longer be released for PS4 and Xbox One, but only for PS5 and Xbox Series X/S. The release period for this is now summer 2023.
The citation reads: “Our vision for Everspace 2 exceeds the technical possibilities offered by last generation consoles. Our team has invested a lot of time to create a satisfying Everspace 2 experience for all fans on Xbox One and PlayStation 4. Ultimately but we would have to make too many restrictions, which would mean that the final version would no longer meet our quality requirements.Backers who supported our Kickstarter campaign and wanted a console version are being contacted to ensure that it is a PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S version. Players who do not have access to these platforms will receive a refund.”
As the team works to add more enemies, rewards, challenges, catalysts, gear, perks, boss fights, a new trade map and more character customization options to the game, final touches to the cutscenes and much more in preparation for launch, there is Another revelation: another companion and an entirely new star system will be available at launch. With a significant amount of Rockfish Games content added into Early Access over the past two years, the price of the PC version of Everspace 2 on Steam, Microsoft Store and GOG will drop from $38.99 to $49 on February 20th. $99 raised.
