A heist game with a cyberpunk setting? Fans of team shooters like Payday and GTFO should now prick up their ears. Because exactly such a project is in development at 10 Chambers under the leadership of Ulf Andersson. However, this game currently has neither a name nor a release date. We collect what is known so far.
By the way, in case you’re wondering what happened to Payday 3 in the meantime, the following article should help you. Here you will find all currently available information about the planned co-op shooter, which with a bit of luck could finally appear in 2023. Payday 3 was not spared from the big Starbreeze crisis:
Payday 3
Everything that is known about the co-op shooter
A little Payday, a little GTFO, a little Cyberpunk
Ulf Andersson is currently the CEO and Creative Director of 10 Chambers – the studio that recently made the (heavy) co-op shooter GTFO. In an interview with NME Andersson talks about the next project his studio is developing. The 10th Chambers CEO seems to be returning to old strengths, having played a key role in Payday and Payday 2 at Overkill.
The new project of 10 Chambers after GTFO will namely again a cooperative Heist- themed first-person shooter
Techno-Thrillerand describes his influences as those that also inspire cyberpunk.
Also, in terms of gameplay, the new game aims to be precise the middle ground between Payday and GTFO walk. That means: While in GTFO every failed attempt to sneak is punished severely and in Payday it is shot to the bitter end as soon as the shooting has started, 10 Chambers wants to scale back both aspects of cyberpunk heisting.
However, Ulf Andersson’s new project currently has no name or release date yet
So fans of co-op and heist games still have to be patient – but at least they have a rough idea of what the future has in store for them. If you haven’t dealt with GTFO yet, the following video may help you. But be warned: This preview was created in 2019 before the release of the co-op shooter.
