So, as reported The Hollywood ReporterRupert Friend, British actor known for his roles in Wes Anderson’s Asteroid City, will share the lead role with Scarlett Johansson and Jonathan Bailey in Universal Pictures’ new film Jurassic World. Rupert Friend cemented his place as one of Wes Anderson’s favorite actors with roles in “The French Dispatch” and “Asteroid City.” Director Gareth Edwards, known for his work on imposing creatures (Godzilla), will direct this new work. Manuel Garcia-Rulfo is also among the main actors. The screenplay is by David Koepp, the author of the original screenplays for “Jurassic Park” and “The Lost World: Jurassic Park.” However, plot details are being carefully kept under wraps.
Production on the film will begin in London in mid-June, with a theatrical release scheduled for July 2, 2025. The post-production schedule will be tight to meet this date. Frank Marshall and Patrick Crowley, pillars of the modern Jurassic franchise, will produce the film under the Kennedy/Marshall banner. Steven Spielberg, creator of the 1993 Jurassic Park franchise, will executive produce through Amblin Entertainment. So the project is in good hands.
