Speaking to GamesIndustryMeurisse said he can’t wait to dive deeper into those plans—though he gave no specific details other than saying they’re “big ideas,” and the team is better prepared now thanks to the experience gained from Expedition 33.

“The team has grown, gained new skills during production. Many were juniors when we started. We’ve learned together,” he said.

“I’m excited to start the next project because we’ll begin from a more efficient place than when we founded the company five years ago. Of course, that brings higher expectations, so it’ll be a challenge. But I can say we—especially Guillaume [Broche, creative director]—have some big ideas for the next game.”

Over 3 Million Copies Sold in Just 33 Days

This week, the studio announced it had sold 3.3 million copies of Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 in just 33 days—an amusing coincidence given the game’s title.
