Have you always wanted to know what our earth looked like before humans… intelligent
and began to shape everything on our planet according to their will? In the new cozy survival game Astrobotanica you will soon have the opportunity to do so.
The recently announced game is being developed by the studio Space Goblin, a group of former employees of Dying Light and Dead Island.

In Astrobotanica you explore our prehistoric earth as an alien biologist in an open world
In Astrobotanica, you play as alien botanist Xel, whose ship crashes on prehistoric Earth, approximately three hundred thousand years ago to be precise. Originally, Xel was searching the Milky Way for crops to bring home to feed his people. Now, instead, he must contend with the dangerous wildlife of a younger Earth.
Of plants and people
Fortunately, as a botanist, Xel knows a lot about plants. Growing food and producing medicine are easy tasks for him. The Earth’s atmosphere is more problematic, because our main character doesn’t breathe oxygen. We need to find a solution for this as soon as possible.
We are not alone in our fight for survival, because as Xel quickly discovers, there were already primitive humans on Earth at that time – the Neanderthals. However, this species was displaced by modern Homo sapiens over the course of thousands of years. In the course of the story we have to gain the trust of the Neanderthals and try to communicate with them
Although Astrobotanica contains survival elements, the game is no tough fight for survival such as Conan Exiles. The developers see Astrobotanica more as a cozy survival game where you can sit back and relax.
As you play, you also have the opportunity to upgrade Xel with skill points and thus equip him with new, useful skills. The so-called PRIMAL skill system is, at first glance, very reminiscent of the Fallout variant SPECIAL
There is no specific release date for Astrobotanica yet. So far, the developers have only revealed that their new work will go into Early Access sometime in 2025.
