A recent podcast with Xbox head Phil Spencer has shared more about the upcoming Fable game including assuring fans of the series that the game is in “amazing” hands.
Fable Game in ‘Amazing’ Hands Says Xbox’s Phil Spencer
The Fable title was revealed at the Xbox Games Showcase last year, and many hoped a new trailer may appear during the E3 2021 showcase this year, however this was not the case. This means we’re still awaiting a progress update on the game’s development under studio Playground Games.
While there aren’t many details surrounding the game a recent podcast between Xbox Head Phil Spencer and Dropped Frames shared a small update on Fable. Spencer talks about the developer Playground games, sharing that fans should have every “confidence” in the studio and that the development team are “amazing”:
The only thing I can really say about Fable is, seeing the pedigree of the team and Playground, and where they set the bar for themselves in building a game – I think that showed with the Forza Horizon 5 preview that they had – I think people should just take confidence in that [studio director] Gavin [Raeburn] and the team there has that same level of focus on doing something amazing with an IP that we know is really important to a lot of Xbox fans, so we can’t wait to get to show more, but the team is just amazing.
The podcast covered a number of topics, but this gives hope to Fable fans that game is in the right hands, at least in Spencer’s eyes.
So far we have only seen a trailer which was shown when the game was first revealed. The trailer shows a very much fantasy world, narrated with a bit of humour. Not many other details were revealed apart from platforms Xbox Series X, PC and that the game will be available on Xbox Game Pass when it launches.
Previously there was a rumour that the Fable would not be an MMO but will still have online features. The rumour also shared that the game will be an Action-RPG with co-op gameplay. However none of these details have been confirmed.
Fable has been announced to be coming to Xbox Series X, PC and Xbox Games Pass.
