Anna Megill, Narrative Lead in Upcoming Film fable The Game, has announced that she will be stepping down in August.
The developer shared the news on her personal Twitter account, where she talked about the joy of working on the project. “My friends, I have news,” Megill tweeted. “In August, I will be stepping down from my role as Head of Narrative for Fable. I had some wonderful years at the Fairy House, but it is time for a new challenge.
“For me, the dream of being a part of Fable came true and it was painful to leave behind. But Playground has put together a team of heroes and talent, so I know it’s getting a good job.” Take care. I’m excited about what’s next – for them, for them and me.”
It seems that shortly after her announcement, some fans who were excited about the game expressed concern about her leaving the project, but Megill later clarified No one has anything to worry about: “Some people are stupid, so let me clarify: I reached a good stopping point where I could jump out of the project, so I did. I decided to jump into my project A break before. Next show. That’s it. I have nothing but love and respect for Playground and the people there.”
Megill joined Playground almost a year ago as its Head of Narrative, having previously worked on Control, Dishonored: Death of an Outsider, and some other strong titles, including Ubisoft’s upcoming Avatar game.
In fact, we got our first look at the upcoming Fable game at last month’s Xbox showcase, though it didn’t show off any gameplay. Obviously, this shot is at least in the engine, and it would certainly be impressive if it ended up looking like this. But we still have to wait for some actual gameplay, let alone any release date.
