Halo: Infinite – New details on Multiplayer, Battle Pass, Crossplay and more
The fans were particularly positive new season pass mechanics to ensure that time pressure when leveling up and the fear of missing something are completely avoided.
Halo wants to offer fair monetization in multiplayer
Even if the multiplayer mode is published as an independent Free2Play title, the creators of course still want to earn one or two dollars. Microsoft wants to be fairer than other current titles and has microtransactions on its own “Player First” mentality
Specifically, this should mean that you always get exactly what you pay for. The ones hated by many players Lootboxes will not be part of Halo: Infinite, There should be a new Battle Pass with every season. By collecting experience points and completing challenges, you advance in the level and unlock cosmetic rewards with each level.
The “Player First Mentality” should also be used in the Battle Pass: Once you’ve bought the Battle Pass, you have unlimited time to unlock all of the content. With the competition there is only time until the end of the current season, which can end in time pressure and hectic grind if you don’t want to miss anything.
The developers describe this feeling as “FOMO” (Fear Of Missing Out) and want to avoid this as much as possible. You should also be able to buy Battle Passes from previous seasons later.
The announced innovations are already well received by the players: The Esports commentator Goldenboy writes on Twitter:
“The Battle Pass news is MASSIVE. I’ve bought so many Battle Passes in other games, but I couldn’t complete it for professional and personal reasons. Well done @Halo. This is positive direction for the entire industry.”

Industry insider Imran Khan also praises the system:
“Halo Infinite Multiplayer Battle Passes don’t expire and you can always buy older passes. That seems like a really good system.”

There was also praise from the player. So writes sammysoso on Reddit:
“The non-expiring Battlepass is a godsend. I’m happy to know when I take a break that I won’t miss anything. This should be the industry standard in the future.”
The user Grimoireviper can only agree:
“I never bought a Battle Pass because I can’t have fun when I feel like I have to play. I’m really happy to hear that. I bet a lot of people are more willing to spend money on a Battle Pass, when they know they’ll unlock everything they paid for. “
Do you also welcome the way Microsoft and 343 Industries are approaching the Battle Pass system? Or is that completely irrelevant to you because you don’t spend any money on cosmetic items anyway? Let us know in the comments!
