Commonwealth militiamen
Let’s start our overview with Fallout 4’s Commonwealth Militia faction. It’s favored by many players and we quickly understand why. In fact, one of the advantages of this faction is, is that you can continue the Brotherhood of Steel and Rail Network quests in parallel.
Additionally, the fairly neutral alignment of this faction allows you to easily join it, whatever your own alignment you desire! Over and beyond, Joining them will give you access to some cool options like artillery air strikes.
However, some players will not appreciate the quest line associated with this faction. In fact, we don’t want to hide from you that it’s not necessarily the most exciting of the four games. However, if you want to get started with this faction, you will need to complete the Call of Freedom quest you found at the Concord Liberty Museum.
L’Institut
The second faction you can join in Fallout 4 is the Institute. The latter has been focused on technology and science for years, including: The latter are the origin of synthetics that can be found in the wastelands.
These are also among the rewards that you can receive through a good relationship with the institute. In addition, you have access to free healing, as well as quite powerful weapons. You might then think that this is the perfect faction!
However, aside from the moral decision that it is very important to join them, some things will no longer be available to you once you join. You cannot access traders from other factions. You also have to destroy the rail network and the Brotherhood of Steel! If you’re still willing to join them, head to the Institute at the end of the main story to begin the “Return Home” quest.
The Brotherhood of Steel
The Brotherhood of Steel has been present since the beginning of the Fallout license and is one of the main factions of this fourth work. This mission advocates for recovery and the preservation of technologies from before the First World War.
By joining, you can get your hands on armor and weapons that are impressively effective. Furthermore, we don’t want to spoil it for you, but joining the Brotherhood of Steel makes the end of the game clearly one of those that players prefer.
Be careful, however, because as with any faction, some problems still loom. The main thing is that you will again have to destroy two factions, the Institute and the rail network, to achieve your goals. However, if you want to join the Brotherhood, head to the Corvega Power Plant to start the Support the Fire quest.
The rail network
The final faction we’ll be interested in here is the Rail Network, and as you’ve seen in this article, they’ve made friends in more than just the Wasteland. It must be said that the latter have decided to side with the Synthetics, is not very valued in the world of Fallout. Their idea is to free them from their creator, the Institute.
From then on, as you can imagine, one of the downsides is that you have to destroy them, as well as the Brotherhood of Steel, who don’t want to let the Synthetics live. Over and beyond, The bonuses aren’t that crazy unless you’re playing a stealth-based build.
However, if this is the case, you will largely find what you are looking for. The same applies if you have a good disposition. The quest “Rail Network” is the one that best suits your alignment. Finally, be aware that dealers will make offers to you Effective armor at unbeatable prices. To join them, you must be interested in the quest “The Road to Freedom”.
